The Story
It Started With After-Hours Work.
Not a business plan or an investor deck — just a technician taking on jobs at night until they added up to something.
Before IT Next Consultant existed, Juan Hernandez spent over five years in desktop support, and then in the IT department of a law firm with more than 500 employees. That’s the kind of environment where a single outage stops hundreds of people from working — and where you learn fast that the fix matters less than whether someone actually owns the problem.
The work was steady, but it wasn’t enough. He took on jobs after hours, building a reputation one call at a time, until it became clear the side work had a shape of its own.
In 2008 he formalized it. IT Next Consultant put a name to the work he was already doing — and turned it into something built rather than something assigned.
Everything since has grown the same way. No advertising budget, no sales team. Good work led to connections, connections led to referrals, and referrals led to the retail and luxury brands on the client list today.
IT Next came about to formalize the work — and to make a dream of being an entrepreneur come true.
